Presented by Tara Futures Group, this unique event begins with a 'Festival of the Orient' on Friday night, featuring entertainment including Lion Dancer and monster fireworks display guaranteed to excite the child in everyone. Get your groove on and stomp your feet to the infectious beat from The Twines, who are back by popular demand. This family band combine the sounds of didgeridoo, guitar, flute, percussion, quirky instruments from all over the globe, to create a fun filled interactive family show for everyone.

Sample the Oriental/Asian influenced cuisine as you watch martial arts displays and unique cultural dance and practices of Pacific Islander and Maori cultures. The working sheepdog display and return of Donny's "Ducks & Dogs" will add an outback Australian flavour to the weekend. This event is more than camel races! It is an opportunity to celebrate the d iversity of culture i n the Tara region. August 2013 marks the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the first South Sea Islanders to Queensland. This is a significant milestone not only for Queensland’s Australian South Sea Islander community, but for all Queenslanders.
